Sometimes, from afar, everything appears alluring. Our vivid imaginations paint a romanticized picture, fueling the notion that "the grass is greener on the other side." This applies across various aspects of life, but upon closer inspection, the rose-tinted glasses often shatter, revealing thorns that weren't visible from a distance.
Let's take the example of buying a house. Initially, the vision of multiple bedrooms and breathtaking views can be intoxicating. However, even the most stunning house eventually loses its novelty and reveals the reality of homeownership. Even brand-new houses develop problems over time.
This phenomenon extends even to our spiritual pursuits. We compare ourselves to figures like Arjuna, yearning for a Krishna to guide us. While having aspirations is commendable, the harsh reality often reveals itself: life passes by without our finding the elusive "Krishna," leading many to question the very existence of a higher power.
However, the fault lies not with external factors but within ourselves. We need to cultivate the qualities of Arjuna, a highly skilled and self-aware individual who sought guidance despite being the best in his field. Even with Krishna by his side, Arjuna faced significant challenges.
Therefore, instead of passively waiting for opportunities to fall into our laps, we must actively seek self-improvement. Meditation is a powerful tool to enhance our awareness and inner strength, gradually transforming us into the "Arjun" we aspire to be. By taking responsibility for our growth, we become receptive to the guidance that may already be present in our lives, potentially hidden by our shortcomings.
Remember, the "right time" and "right Guru" might be closer than we think, waiting patiently for our awakening. It's our own ignorance and inaction that often keep us from reaching our full potential. So, let's stop romanticizing distant ideals and embark on the journey of self-discovery, for it is through our own efforts that we become worthy of receiving the guidance we seek.
